HIT DEM FOLKS
I'm studying U. S. History, and our teacher has asked us to blog about a particular theme. I've picked exceptionalism; the idea that America is different from other countries. I'm interested in the relationship of exceptionalism to space exploration. I read an article which says: more investment in space exploration coupled with a decision to reach Mars by 2040 would "celebrate American exceptionalism" like no other program or policy in place today.

Buzz Aldrin is the second man to set foot on the moon. He is advocating for the Mars/Space exploration program, in which educated scientist, geologists, etc. will be sent to test and explore Mars. His shared knowledge aims to coax America to not only be a great country, but to be without doubt, accepted as the greatest by being the first to send people to inhabit another planet. This will be an enormous leap into the future for mankind as there are unknown resources on Mars that could be beneficial if we were to obtain them. This feat of American exceptionalism isn't only going to benefit mankind through discovering the unknown, but will also bring together nations who are "space-faring" and also grant opportunities for nations to work and learn together. Therefore I agree with what Buzz Aldrin is trying to help America and the world achieve.
